The Housing Benefit Poverty Hearing happened at the Bristol Council House on Friday 18 May 2012.
The Hearing drew a passionate audience to the Bristol Council House, hearing from people directly affected by benefit caps and contributing to discussions about possible solutions.
The attendees included housing organisations, employers, MPs, councillors, landlords, charitable trusts, the media and the public.
After listening to five or six claimants describing their experiences, the audience was asked to consider what can be done to help people in urgent housing need. Suggestions came in from the floor as well as from via our Twitter feed and were recorded – along with all other speeches and addresses – by the Ecomedia Collective.
