WHAT DIFFERENCE COULD THE FIRST ELECTED MAYOR MAKE?

Join the effort to encourage candidates to make housing a priority for Bristol’s new Mayor!

With Bristol’s first Mayoral elections coming up soon, local communities are invited to make themselves heard.

Housing and homelessness will be one of the main issues that Bristol’s new Mayor will have to tackle. The following events will provide an opportunity to question the candidates about this. This is your chance to take part.

  • 2 November (time t.b.c.) event at Great Hall, Wills Memorial Building, Queens Road, Clifton (see map), organised by Voscur and the University of Bristol Student Union.
  • 8 November (time t.b.c.) Event at Trinity Centre, Trinity Road, Lawrence Hill (see map) organised by Voscur with the Ashley, Easton and Lawrence Hill Neighbourhood Partnership and St.Pauls Unlimited.  The areas of  Ashley, Easton and Lawrence Hill are among those worst affected by the Housing Benefit cuts. These cuts not only affect the unemployed but also many people in low-paid work.

Details of other hustings can be found on the Mayoral Election pages at www.thisisbristol.co.uk where you can also get information about how to book a place and/or ask a question.
